Ogmore-By-Sea is located on the western side of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, 3 miles from Bridgend. Its beaches, which are ideal for surfers, look out across to Porthcawl, the Bristol Channel and Tusker Rock which is easily seen at low tide.

There is a regular bus that runs through Ogmore by Sea, 7 days a week from Bridgend bus station with stops in Ewenny, Southerndown, St Brides Major, Wick, Broughton, Monknash, Marcross, St Donats (Atlantic College) and Llantwit Major.

The Ogmore village has its very own pub on the main road, The Pelican Inn and Southerndown golf club is situated just above with breathtaking views across the estuary. Further into Ogmore-By-Sea there is a local shop and post office, craft shop, cafe and newly developed Ogmore-By-Sea hall where regular events and classes are held for the local community to enjoy. The views from here are perfect for a quick pit stop and a slice of cake.

The River Ogmore runs through Bridgend, from the Ogmore Valley and Gilfach Goch and meets the sea between Ogmore by Sea and the Merthyr Mawr sand dunes. A popular river for anglers, you’ll often see them camped out on Portobello (the flats alongside the River). There are some pretty spectacular walks around this area from the 12th Century Ogmore Castle, the river, Merthyr Mawr, the dunes and along the coastline towards Southerndown.
